The 2012 AAPC Annual Conference theme is CONSTRUCTION & COLLABORATION: Pathways to the Future and will be held Thursday, April 19th thru Saturday, April 21st at the National Conference Center located in Leesburg, Virginia.

The keynote speakers who have graciously accepted our request to present at the 2012 Annual Conference are:

The Reverend Pamela D. Couture, Ph.D., is the Jane and Geoffrey Martin Chair in Church & Community at Emmanuel College, Toronto, Canada. She has long been concerned with the social, cultural, and economic contexts in which pastoral care and counseling operates. Her current research has focused on the peacemaking and reconciliation practices of rural United Methodist Congolese, as they worked to rebuild their society following the war in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) from 1996 to 2008. Her publications include Pastoral Care and Social Conflict, edited with Rodney Hunter (Abingdon, 1993) and Child Poverty: Love, Justice, and Social Responsibility (Chalice Press, 2007). She has been a frequent contributor to the Journal of Pastoral Theology and the Journal of Childhood and Religion.

Harlene Anderson, Ph.D., is founding member of the Houston Galveston Institute, the Taos Institute, and Access Success. She is recognized internationally as being at the leading edge of postmodern collaborative practices as a thinker, consultant, coach, and educator. Harlene has authored and co-authored numerous professional writings including her book Conversation, Language, and Possibilities — A Postmodern Approach to Therapy. Among her many awards are the prestigious 2000 Outstanding Contributions to Marriage and Family Therapy Award from the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the 1998 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
